He was referred to a veterinary oncologist, where additional diagnostics determined the specific type and stage of his disease. While lymphoma is a serious diagnosis, it is also one of the most treatable forms of canine cancer. With prompt treatment, many dogs achieve remission and continue to enjoy a happy, active life.
The encouraging news is that Charlie is still feeling like himself. He is eating well, staying active, and enjoying time with the family who loves him so deeply. Because he is otherwise healthy, his veterinary team believes he is an excellent candidate for treatment, which includes chemotherapy and supportive care to slow the disease and preserve his quality of life.
