Lily’s journey with her fur-mama began six years ago when they met at Animal Friends. Just two years old at the time, she had only been at the shelter for a day when in stepped serendipity and brought them together. Right from the start, Lily’s personality came to life: sweet, gentle, playful, and affectionate! Known for her love of giving kisses, playing fetch with her tennis ball, and exploring the trails at Frick Park, Lily has charmed everyone she meets.
Now, at 8 ½ years old, Lily is her owner’s closest companion, sharing the ups and downs of life, from navigating the pandemic to facing personal challenges like divorce and losses. This past year, Lily has been struggling with a knee injury. A full ligament tear has led to consistent pain and limited mobility, making daily activities that used to be easy, now difficult. To restore her quality of life, Lily now needs TPLO surgery, which will relieve her pain and allow her to return to her active, joyful self.
Lily’s owner had this to say: So now is my turn to help her back. To bring her quality of life back to a place where she can walk and play like she used to. I would not have been able to do this without The Izzie Fund. Their generosity is making it possible for Lily to live pain free and allow her to do all the things that make her happy again.
To anyone looking for a place to put their spare dollars, look no further. The folks at The Izzie Fund are making a positive impact on pets and their families in our community. They’re making it possible for those living paycheck to paycheck to give their dogs the gift of health and relief.
PUPDATES:
Lily has fully recovered from her knee surgery, after tearing her CCL. She is back to being able to take long walks, run around in Frick Park, and jump in and out of the backseat of her family’s SUV so that she can go on adventures with them around town.
Lily’s fur mama says “her quality of life would still be so limited and she would be in daily pain, had it not been for the generosity of the Izzie Fund. Your support has made all the difference in giving Lily the chance to heal and get back to doing what she loves most—being her happy, tail-wagging self. Please consider donating so that more people who are faced with a multi-thousand dollar surgery cost for their pet family member can continue to be helped!”
Ever wonder what The Izzie Fund does? This. Is. It! We provide hope to those in need. We keep families together. We keep dogs out of shelters. WE SAVE LIVES.
Will you lend a paw and help an animal in need?
