At 8 years young, Rain needs surgery to remove a grade 2 mast cell tumor pressing on his trachea.
Rain’s fur-mama was a retired nurse who went back to work to provide for his medical needs that were averaging $400 to $500 a month depending on secondary issues. As Rain’s treatment continued to climb, she spent over $4000 on diagnostic testing, trips to the ER, medicines and other therapeutic treatments. Even with her GoFundMe account, it was not enough for the required surgery to remove the tumor.
Rain was running out of time. That’s when she found The Izzie Fund. We are happy to share that Rain’s surgery is now scheduled for January. He’s not out of the woods yet, but thanks to The Izzie Fund, he has a fighting chance! Please keep him and his fur-mama in your thoughts this holiday season.
PUPDATES:
January 2024
It is with a heavy heart that we let our amazing community know that sweet Rain did not make it through his surgery and crossed the rainbow bridge on January 11, 2024. We knew his surgery would be a challenge with the location of the mast tumor in a very tricky position, but all of us – especially Rain’s fur-mama – were hoping for a more positive outcome.
We try hard to bring positive energy and fun to our charity and brand, but this news is difficult. Our hearts break for Rain’s mama.
We wish for Rain’s mama that she finds peace in knowing she did all she could for Rain. Please pray for Rain’s mama during this time.
Ever wonder what The Izzie Fund does? This. Is. It! We provide hope to those in need. We keep families together. We keep dogs out of shelters. WE SAVE LIVES.
Will you lend a paw and help an animal in need?
