Meet Rocky

Rocky is a two-year-old Miniature Pinscher, fawn and rust in color, and full of personality — strong-willed and a little hard-headed! He’s feisty but so much fun to be around — playful, protective, and wonderful with other dogs.

Rocky was diagnosed with Legg-Calvé-Perthes Disease, a condition where the head of the femur (the ball part of the hip joint) starts to break down because of poor blood supply. Over time, the bone weakens, collapses, and causes pain, limping, and muscle loss in the affected leg.

On December 26, 2024, Rocky underwent Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery — a procedure where the head and neck of the femur (the thigh bone) are surgically removed — to eliminate the bone-on-bone contact and therefore his pain. Rocky began physical therapy shortly after to build strength and improve mobility. In just a few short sessions, his fur mama has seen significant progress and he is using his leg more and more thanks to therapy. With The Izzie Fund’s help, Rocky will continue to receive the rehabilitation he needs so he can get back running and jumping around with his doggy friends.

Ever wonder what The Izzie Fund does? This. Is. It! We provide hope to those in need.  We keep families together. We keep dogs out of shelters. WE SAVE LIVES.

Will you lend a paw and help an animal in need?
