Sadie, a pit bull mix with endless charm, was rescued as a 3–4-month-old puppy from a city stairwell. Sadie’s personality shines through in everything she does. She loves rope toys, belly rubs, cheese, and sleeping under the blankets. At her owners’ 2022 wedding, she stole the show with her flower collar, walking down the aisle and even inspiring paw-print cookies on the cookie table.
In 2023, Sadie tore both CCLs within weeks of each other—a devastating setback—but thanks to Dr. Enwiller at VCA Northview and successful bilateral TPLO surgery, she made a full recovery.
As Sadie approaches 10 years old, her family discovered a lump on her hind leg. Tests revealed an aggressive mast cell tumor with early lymph node involvement. Through the compassion of her surgical team and the urgency of her oncologist, she underwent surgery and began chemotherapy. Fortunately, her scans showed no organ spread, and genetic testing confirmed she would respond best to oral chemo. Sadie’s oncologist also recommended electrochemotherapy, which her family is exploring as a next step.
Through every challenge, Sadie’s spirit has never dimmed. She remains playful, affectionate, and brave—proof of the deep bond she shares with the family who loves her beyond measure.
