Meet Toby

In late 2024, a small mass was incidentally discovered in Toby’s right anal gland during a routine veterinary exam. Though he showed no symptoms, follow-up monitoring revealed the mass persisted. Toby was referred to Dr. Takacs at Ebensburg Animal Hospital, where the gland was surgically removed in May 2025. Pathology confirmed cancer, but it was caught very early, and Toby recovered well with an excellent prognosis.

Later that year, while addressing an unrelated dental infection, Toby developed pain and a small bump on his forehead. Further evaluation, imaging, and specialist consultations revealed a malignant tumor originating in his sinuses and invading the skull. A biopsy confirmed sinus carcinoma. Given Toby’s otherwise excellent health and lack of disease spread, stereotactic radiation therapy was recommended with curative intent.

Toby completed three fractions of stereotactic radiation in December 2025. Although his condition had worsened leading up to treatment, he showed rapid and dramatic improvement after radiation and quickly returned to his happy, energetic self. Today, Toby is doing exceptionally well, pain-free, and back to enjoying life.

Thanks to the generosity of donors through The Izzie Fund, Toby was able to receive life-saving treatment. His family is deeply grateful and looks forward to paying that support forward so other pets can be given the same chance.

Ever wonder what The Izzie Fund does? This. Is. It! We provide hope to those in need.  We keep families together. We keep dogs out of shelters. WE SAVE LIVES.

Will you lend a paw and help an animal in need?
