Zoe has spent much of her life bringing comfort to people who need it most. Rescued from a puppy mill at just four months old, Zoe found her forever home with a widowed mom of three who works as a chaplain in senior living and hospice care.
Although she’s not officially a therapy dog, Zoe often accompanies her fur-mama to visit seniors, hospice patients, and their families, offering companionship, comfort, and a little laughter during some of life’s most difficult moments.
At home, Zoe is just as special. She runs alongside her two-legged sibling as she trains for the National Guard. Zoe loves swimming, hiking, kayaking, and carrying around her beloved stuffed pig.
But when Zoe suffered an unexpected injury, her active life came to a sudden stop. For six weeks, the dog who was always on the move could barely get around without pain.
Sadly, the cost of surgery was simply beyond what a single parent raising 3 children could manage alone.
That’s when The Izzie Fund stepped in.
Desperate to help her, Zoe’s mom found The Izzie Fund. Thanks to our donors, Zoe underwent surgery last week, and we’re already celebrating some wonderful news. She stood up on her own for the first time and has even taken a few steps, with a little encouragement from her favorite treats!
Zoe still has several weeks of recovery ahead, but her family is hopeful that she’ll soon return to the activities she loves and the people who look forward to her visits.
Ever wonder what The Izzie Fund does? This. Is. It! We provide hope to those in need. We keep families together. We keep dogs out of shelters. WE SAVE LIVES.
Will you lend a paw and help an animal in need?
